Prior to having a baby, I spent HOURS researching everything....from
what to eat, what labor would be like, which stroller I should get, and so on.
I have complied all of my findings here -- in case it saves YOU some time, and you find it
valuable. I'm always happy to share my opinions!

Stroller/Carrier:
Cortina Stroller – Explorer (6495686)
Why do I recommend this product?
We tried many different strollers including Britax, Peg Perego and Gracco. We didn't
agree on any of them until the Chicco was recommended by a Babies R Us employee. My
husband and I both loved it right away! It's rugid, yet lightweight. It's easy to
open and close [unlike the Britax]. It was very easy to assemble, looks good, works
great....I haven't found anything I don't like about it!

Highchair:
Polly Highchair - Explorer
Why do I recommend this product?
You're going to notice a theme here.....we like Chicco products! Since we loved our
stroller, we decided to start with looking at the Chicco high chair. Again, it blew the
others away, as far as we were concerned. Cleans up easily, reclines almost straight, has
two tray liners and folds up very slim. What's not to like?

Play Yard:

Why do I recommend this product?
This is another great Chicco product! There are so many things it does. There's a flip
down changing table, an activity mat, a bassinette and the play yard. It also has a night
light with music and vibration. Folds up really small, so it's great for travel!
My only recommendation? The mat where the baby sleeps or plays seemed kinda hard to us.
So, we bought a piece of memory foam and cut it down to size. We put that under the
mattress and had a baby who slept very well.

Baby Carrier:

Why do I recommend this product?
Originally, we were going to get the Baby Bjorn. However, a doctor friend recommended this
carrier instead. I read numerous reviews, and they were all glowing.

Why do I recommend this product?
Breastfeeding was a MAJOR challenge for me. My mother and older sister couldn't do it,
so I felt I was doomed from the start. But I gave it a try and stuck with it. I don't
think I would have had any success without the Medela pump. And the Boppy was perfect
for breastfeeding and supporting my big baby -- he was 9 lbs. 6 ozs. at birth! Although
I never was able to go without supplementing with formula, I did manage to feed him at
least 50% breast milk for three months. To me, that was a huge success!

Baby Monitor:

Why do I recommend this product?
I did a lot of research on monitors, and this one kept coming up as highly recommended. I thought about getting the 1.8" screen but went for the 2.5" instead. And let me tell you.....I LOVE THIS. It gives me SUCH peace of mind. Our baby is a floor up, and this will work in the basement. The picture is good, the sound is good. I love being able to watch my baby snooze with the touch of a button. I don't know how we'd do without our monitor! Oh, and if you have a wireless network and cordless telephones that are anything other than 900 mHz, then you'll have a nice, clear signal!

Why do I recommend this product?
We live in Ohio where it gets rather cold during the Winter. This fits rather nicely in the baby carrier and is soft and warm. Our baby loves it! And we don't have to put bulky coats on him or worry about comprising his safety.

Why do I recommend this product?
I was a little apprehensive about the cost, but the sheets and blanket are very well made. My husband grew up sailing, and we both love the ocean. So, picking a sailboat "theme" for our baby's room was an easy decision. I do love this set and how good it looks with the crib, artwork and blue walls. It is tough to find at Babies R Us! We waited months for a set to come in, so get on the waiting list or order early!

You Are What You Eat:
I signed up for numerous newsletters and new baby deals....I get stuff in the mail AND in box all the time. I have tried Enfamil, Good Start and Similac with my baby. Although each baby is unique, I found that my son didn't seem to like Similac. He had some major gas with Good Start at first. But, we went ahead and finished the cannister with him, and he's been fine with it ever since. We feed him Good Start during the day and Enfamil Lipil A.R. at night. Since he's such a big baby, he seems to need more than just formula at night. He's still not old enough for solid food [very soon!], so the added rice startch in the Lipil A.R. seemed to be enough to get him sleeping through the night!
